Secret Religion Offers Aurelius Maximus First Stakes Winner


Norman Stables’ undefeated Secret Religion  gained the $150,000 Texas Thoroughbred Affiliation Futurity July 13 at Lone Star Park to offer freshman stallion Aurelius Maximus  his first stakes winner.

Skilled by Jayde Gelner, 2-year-old filly Secret Religion improved her document to 2 wins from two begins, with earnings of $110,400.

Secret Religion gained her stakes debut Saturday by three-quarters of a size after rallying from seventh place early. Her remaining time for five 1/2 furlongs on a quick dust observe was 1:05.77. C.J. McMahon has ridden her in each begins.

Aurelius Maximus, a son of Pioneerof the Nile, entered stud in 2021 at Pink River Farms in Louisiana. His stud charge has remained at $2,000 since his introduction.

Gelner chosen Secret Religion out of the 2023 Texas Thoroughbred Affiliation Yearling Sale for $75,000. Bred in Louisiana by J. Adcock and Hume Wornall, Secret Religion is the third stakes winner out of the successful Macho Uno mare St. Jean , who additionally has produced four-time stakes winner Midnight Fantasy  (Midnight Lute  ) and three-time stakes winner Sturdy Promise  (Damaged Vow) from eight foals.
