LAS VEGAS – Charles Conwell is making a case to be thought of for a world title shot.
Conwell knocked out Khiary Grey within the second spherical on the Michelob Extremely Area contained in the Mandalay Bay. Conwell, who’s rated No. 9 by The Ring at 154 kilos, improved to 20-0, 15 knockouts.
From the opening bell, Conwell was the more-effective fighter, touchdown the tougher punches to the pinnacle and physique of Grey.

Conwell, who resides in Cleveland, Ohio, beforehand fought on April 20 on the undercard of the Devin Haney-Ryan Garcia combat in Brooklyn, New York, stopping former fringe contender Nathaniel Gallimore within the sixth spherical.
The win over Gallimore was Conwell’s debut below the Golden Boy Promotions’ banner. The 30-year-old had not fought since November 2022, defeating Juan Carlos Abreu by majority resolution.
Conwell is managed by John Habibi.
Grey, who resides in Worcester, Massachusetts, falls to 18-7, 13 KOs.
The 31-year-old Grey has now cut up his final eight fights, shedding by knockout to Gary O’Sullivan in March 2019 and shedding by resolution in July 2021 to Bakhram Murtazaliev, who just lately received the vacant IBF world junior middleweight title.
The Conwell-Grey combat was the co-main occasion previous to the junior middleweight conflict between Serhii Bohachul and Vergil Ortiz.
