France fullback Melvyn Jaminet has been suspended for 34 weeks and fined amost $50,000 after posting a racist video on social media.
The incident occurred throughout the French workforce’s tour of Argentina earlier this month, and the French Rugby Federation introduced their punishment on Friday.
The FFR’s disciplinary council dominated that the 25-year-old Toulon participant had “undermined the very best pursuits of rugby”.
Eight of the 34 weeks could be changed by a collection of actions by the participant, together with alcohol and social media consciousness programs and talking at rugby colleges “to advertise the values of sport regarding the combat in opposition to discrimination”.
Jaminet has beforehand apologised for his feedback, saying: “I perceive that this may increasingly have damage and offended many individuals, and I need to make it clear that these feedback on no account mirror my values or these of the French rugby workforce.
“Racism, in all its varieties, is unacceptable and goes in opposition to every thing I consider in.”
A day after the incident, two different touring French gamers, Oscar Jegou and Hugo Auradou had been arrested after an allegation of sexual assault.
